I hate trying to fight off a cold. I have a headache and a sore throat and that generally craptastic feeling one gets when you have a cold, but I'm not quite sick enough to lie around watching movies and tv shows that have been hanging about on my dvr. So, naturally, I've been telling myself, "Oh, this is great! I'm not sick, so I can get to work!" but really, I want to lie around watching tv and complain about how much my head hurts (and a preemptive thank you those of you who listen to me with good grace before gently saying, "Have you thought taking an aspirin or something? Just, you know, an idea.")

Anyway, enough of that. How about this week's contest instead? (It sounds more exciting than almost-cold talk to me too.)

This week I want to know what your favorite tv show is. (Currently, I have two: The Office and Friday Night Lights.)

You can tell me by commenting here, or by sending me an email (elizabeth at elizabethwrites dot com) Replies must be in by midnight EST on Friday, February 16th, and then I'll draw four names at random and send each of those four people a book! Though you can only reply once, you can reply no matter where you live (I will ship books overseas), or if you've won something from me in the past.

Books I'll be giving away are: All-American Girl by Meg Cabot, When It Happens by Susane Colasanti, This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen, and Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin.

And congrats to last week's winners: Tiffani, Kasey, Emily, and Britney!

The Nielsen company finally starts tracking college students, and what do you know--some tv shows are more popular than people thought! (Of course, they are only tracking 130 students. (!!))

Favorite classic TV shows:
The Twilight Zone

Favorite TV shows still on the air:
Cold Case
Without a Trace

Favorite contemporary shows no longer airing:
The X-Files

...and my favorite sitcoms, like The Dick Van Dyke Show and I Love Lucy, are not at all contemporary - though The Golden Girls is the closest to it.
