I'm not sure how I feel about the new blogger so far, since a. it posted about six million of my entries on various feeds when I made the switch and b. it's showing error messages on the livejournal feed. I'm hoping it'll work out today. If not, I'm not sure what I'll do. Has anyone else dealt with switching over to the new blogger and the resulting feed problems successfully?

Besides the blogger switchover, I also broke down and bought a new computer this weekend. I know, you're thinking, And?

The thing is, I was ridiculously attached to my old computer (and I do mean old; it was bought in 1999), which was the computer I started writing on. And so even though it had become increasingly slow and prone to the dreaded Windows blue screen of doom, I didn't want to do anything about it. But I realized I needed a processor that wasn't from the dark ages to do just about anything--I was starting to have problems accessing sites, and don't even get me started on trying to find software/hardware that worked--and so, on Friday, I bought a Mac. That's right, not only did I get a new computer, I switched sides!

So far, I'm liking the Mac a lot, especially how I could use it right out of the box. I was expecting the usual 'turn on computer, spend four hours uninstalling programs I don't want and will never use' but I just turned it on and wham! Off and running.

Anyway, enough about that, and on to this week's contest (reminder: I'll be running weekly contests until the end of April, when I'll be running the huge Mega May contest)

This week, I want to know what's your favorite thing to do on a day off. (reading and watching tv/movies are my faves)

You can tell me by commenting here, or by sending me an email (elizabeth at elizabethwrites dot com) Replies must be in by midnight EST on Friday, March 2nd, and then I'll draw four names at random and send each of those four people a book! Though you can only reply once, you can reply no matter where you live (I will ship books overseas), or if you've won something from me in the past.

Books I'll be giving away are: How to Deal (containing Someone Like You and That Summer in one book) by Sarah Dessen, Crunch Time by Mariah Fredericks, Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty, and Good Girls by Laura Ruby

And congrats to last week's winners: Jeni, Mia, Katie, Brittany, Victoria, Sarah, Morgan, and Courtney!

Finally, a couple of interesting links:

A report on technology use by teenagers I found this report fascinating because I found out that yes, people besides me still talk on the phone using land lines! There's also a lot of interesting data about how teenagers use IM, cell phones, and etc. with regards to things like breaking up with someone. (note: pdf file)

Day off? Hmmmmmmmmm, weekends. Along with baking cookies which I haven't had the $ or time for lately, sadly, I've recently developed a sick sadness for Discovery Health Channel documentaries. Transgender surgeries! People with very large tumors! Conjoined twins! Medical mysteries! (The message of medical mysteries: many, many doctors suck ass and do not listen to their patients. It's pure fun!)
