The book signing was fabulous! The Regulator staff was very kind to clearly-out-of-town-and-awfully-nervous me, and Melissa Walker is super sweet AND does a kick-ass reading. (How kick-ass? Well, let's put it this way--the store sold out of every copy of Violet on the Runway about five seconds after she finished. And hey, if you haven't gotten a copy of the book yet, you should!)

Also, I have to thank everyone who came to the reading and said nice things afterward, which they so didn't have to because let me tell you, it was very obvious that I was *terrified* when I started. I'd practiced, but what I hadn't realized is there's a big difference between sitting on your living room floor reading to your sleeping dog and standing up on a stage (!) looking out at people. Who are looking back at you! And not sleeping!

But I got through it without passing out, which was my biggest worry, and now I can say I've done an actual bookstore reading/signing. And I'd never done one before! (Also, I am now 110% sure that a job involving lots of public speaking is so not for me)

Before I share some links, I want to say congrats to Beth, Sarah, Sammi, and Ruth, who all won books in last week's contest!

Gossip Girl is the show teens are most excited about watching--at least according to one survey. Did anyone see the premiere? What did you think? I wasn't super keen on it, but I'll keep watching for a while, as I hear later episodes are pretty good. (If you want to read more about my take on the premiere, I did a tiny piece on it for Popnography)

The Guardian (UK papers=AWESOME!) takes a look at writer's writing rooms--gorgeous and fascinating.
