I finished Before I Die at the doctor's office this morning and *wow,* what a brilliant book. It's gorgeously written and very moving. And, best of all, it's going to be available in the US at the end of the month. If you're looking for a truly extraordinary young adult novel to read, I don't think you can go wrong with this one.

And now I have lots of links to share:

From Sarah Monette, whose short story collection I'm eagerly awaiting (the release date keeps getting pushed back--waaah!): Five Things I Know About World-Building

Jennifer Lynn Barnes (whose latest novel, Platinum, is out soon!) on her writing process and revision

Lots of great stuff from Editorial Anonymous tackling marketing, editor woes, and questions that are never asked but should be

Tess Gerritsen talks about agents

An excellent blog entry on line editing-- and I do mean excellent. I like it so much I've printed it out, and have added it to my stash of writing articles I consider indispensable.

I love your book by the way. I'm reading it again right now for like the 6th time. I can't wait for your new books to come out.

I don't mean to freak you out. I just finally decided to check out your website, so i thought i would comment to your blog, since no one else had.

Hey there,

Thank you for the kind words about Bloom!

Jenny Downham's book is about a girl named Tessa who has only a few months left to live (she's dying of leukemia). I don't think I can do a decent summary of how awesome this book is, but this: http://blaine.org/sevenimpossiblethings/?p=748 does a pretty good job.
