Happy New Year! and a contest!

Tuesday, January 01, 2008

Well, 2008 is here (yay!) and I'd love to hear all about your resolutions! I only have one, and that's to try and worry less. We'll see how I do (she says, worrying. ha!)

Anyway, what do you want to accomplish this year? Tell me your resolutions, either by commenting here (make sure you leave me a way to contact you) or by sending me an email at elizabeth at elizabethwrites dot com, and you could win a free book!

I'll be taking comments and emails up until 9 AM EST tomorrow, the 2nd, and then I'll draw four names at random and send each of those four people a book! Though you can only reply once, you can reply no matter where you live (I will ship books overseas), or if you've won something from me in the past.

Books I'll be giving away are: The Luxe by Anna Godbersen, Dramarama by E Lockhart, The Morning Gift by Eva Ibbotson, and Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin

Happy New Year!!

My resolutions:

Read 366 books (it is a leap year, correct?)
Write a novel
Do better in school
Get a good SAT score
Be a better blogger
Budget my money better

If I can get at least one or two accomplished, I'll be happy. Well, if it includes the last one--that's crucial.

I'm trying to balance my YA reading and my adult readings. As well as doing more reviews!!!!

And of course exercise more.....sigh.

Happy New Year!!

My goals are:

1. Study more, make the honor roll for the rest of the school year.
2. Go outside more.
3. Write every day.
4. Read all the books in my To-Be-Read stack.
5. Keep in touch with my friends, even after graduation.
6. Give to a charity.

I love your resolution, and it's one I need to adopt myself. Worry is something that just eats up your happiness. Especially when you start worrying about how much your worrying. Or worrying about how to find ways to stop.

But I have bookish and bloggish resolutions as well. I posted about them earlier on in the day:

I just realized I forgot to leave an email address. Though I'm sure your resourceful enough to find it on my blog...I wouldn't want to risk being disqualified. :)

I'm so bad at New Years Resolutions but I think I can keep this one. I'm resolving to read 200 books this year. I read over 130 last year that I kept track of so I think it will be a challenging but fun resolution. I even already read one today! Count me in for the contest. :)

I'm too late for the contest, but I want to answer anyway -

1) Finish the quilt I'm working on by April.
2) Eat out less.
3) Start saving money instead of spending all of it (roughly 15% of each paycheck).
4) Take the GRE and make at least a 1200 (a stretch because my math skills are sadly lacking).

Happy New Year, Elizabeth!
