win a copy of WAKE--before it's in stores!!

Tuesday, February 05, 2008

This week, I'll be giving away an autographed copy of Lisa McMann's fantastic new novel WAKE--which isn't even in stores yet!

That's right--if you win, you'll get a chance to read WAKE before anyone else!!

For your chance to win WAKE, all you have to do is leave me a comment. (Yep, that's it--though make sure you leave some way for me to contact you--a lot of you have closed Blogger profiles!)

I'll be taking comments through midnight EST on Friday, February 8th, and then I'll draw one name at random, and that person will win the autographed copy of WAKE! Though you can only reply once, you can reply no matter where you live (I will ship books overseas), or if you've won something from me in the past.

Here's a little bit about the book--

"For seventeen-year-old Janie, getting sucked into other people's dreams is getting old. Especially the falling dreams, the naked-but-nobody-notices dreams, and the sex-crazed dreams. Janie's seen enough fantasy booty to last her a lifetime. She can't tell anybody about what she does; they'd never believe her or, worse, they'd think she's a freak. So Janie lives on the fringe, cursed with an ability she doesn't want and can't control. Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. Because for the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else's twisted psyche. She is a participant.... "

(PS There's also a *fantastic* love story!)

I hope you're feeling better, Elizabeth! I spent my weekend sick in bed, with the flu/a throat infection. The first season of Lost kept me company - I felt too bad to even read.

Wake sounds like a great book. If I happen to win, my email address is ktchpgrl@ufl.edu :)

Loved Bloom, by the way.

I'll give it a shot. It sounds like a good book, and I'm always interesting in discovering good new YA fiction. (Which is how I stumbled onto your site, actually...)

I saw the book in the stores!!!

I've known about the book for a while. I've been talking to Lisa. I told her that I saw the book out in Barnes and Noble one day. Lisa thought it was interesting and I decided to do some investigating. I ended up with realizing that it was only a mistake. They thought that that day was the publishing date? Three months in advance? They weren't thinking.

Wake looks amazing and I can't wait to read it. I'm trying to read as many good YA books as I can because I am an aspiring YA writer myself. I want to write a book series and I believe I can really learn a lot from Wake. You have no idea how much it would mean to me to win the book. I find everything about the book/writing business fascinating. I love advertising and hope to be come an advertiser.

I would love to be a great spokesperson for Wake. Winning the book and reading it is a good start. The next step would be to tell people, "There is this amazing book that you have to read! I was so excited when I won a copy of the book. I couldn't wait to read it. I couldn't put the book down since the moment I received it!" That is if I got the chance to read the book. I know I'll love it, no doubt about that, but I'd have to have the book in my possession before I would have the permission to say that statement (no doubt that statement would be true).

I'd love to help advertise for the book!

If I am the incredibly lucky person to win then you may email me at thekbseries@aol.com

Thank you for the opportunity Miss Scott!

ps - Loved Bloom. It was kind of disturbing though because my best friend is named Lauren, and her brother is named Evan, so I had to laugh and cringe throughout the book :)

Wow, the book seems pretty freaking awesome. A couple of weeks ago I put in a 'suggestion for purchase' at my library for Wake, and Perfect You as well.

Btw, thanks for letting people from overseas participate! And Bloom was amazing! :D
