I can't believe it's March already--and Perfect You will be in stores in about three weeks! (!!!)

To celebrate, I'm giving away some books (I know, the surprise!)--and this time, I'm featuring two authors I adore: Melissa de la Cruz and Susane Colasanti. Not only are Melissa and Susane fantabulous writers, they're also both amazingly sweet and kind.

So! If you'd like to win a copy of Susane's When It Happens and Melissa's Blue Bloods and Fresh Off the Boat, all you have to do is leave a comment. Oh! And if you want to tell me about any songs I should pick up at iTunes, that would be great, because I have a gift card--and have no idea what to get! I'll be taking comments (and song suggestions) through midnight EST this Friday, March 7th, and then I'll pick four names at random and each of those four people will win not one, not two, but all three of the books I've listed!

Also! The first two chapters--and a bonus!--of Perfect You are available for download here

I read When It Happens and loved it! But I've never read anything by Melissa de la Cruz.

Perfect You has been pre-ordered. Congrats!

I like Melissa de la Cruz - her books are fun.

As for music suggestions . . . where to start? Lately I'm really liking "Almost Lover" by A Fine Frenzy and "Love Me Like the World is Ending" by Ben Lee. Also recommended are "The Queen & the Soldier" by Suzanne Vega, "So Nice, So Smart" by Kimya Dawson, and Michael Cera and Ellen Page's version of "Anyone but You" from Juno. I think I'll stop now - happy music shopping though! :)

Coolness! Sign me up.

As for music suggestions, I'm not sure exactly what you're into music wise, but if you don't have it already, I'd go with some Blink 182. Most of it's bouncy and oh so fun. :]

I love Melissa's stuff ^_^

Music . . . well, it really depends on the kind of music you like, but generally bands like A Fine Frenzy work for everyone. Cat Power has come out with a CD (which is awesome, by the way) and I love the Across the Universe extended CD (it has 2 cds, preview some of the songs and select :) ).

Count me in for the contest! :)

Hmm, music recommendations. Man, I always feel like such a music dweeb when I suggest songs. How about anything live by O.A.R.? I've been listening to them a lot lately.

I have recently discovered that Kate Voegele is awesome, but I don't have a favorite song of hers.

Yay, you're book's coming out soon! Can't wait to read it! I also love Susane Colasanti and Melissa de la Cruz! I'm not sure what kind of music you're into but I agree with kourtnay325 and book~adorer about the 'Once' thing. Personally, I prefer Falling Slowly by The Frames, though. I'm probably bias though coz I heard that version first!

Be Gentle With Me- The Boy Least Likely To (It SOUNDS cute, so it's good if you're into cute things)
Non believer- La Rocca (It's just a good song)
Trouble Sleeping- The Perishers (I would recommend ALL of their songs, but mostly 'Sway','Best Friends' and 'Come Out Of The Shade'. They're a few tv shows as well, like oth, the o.c., grey's anatomy, etc. Their songs are kind of sad, sweet and romantic.)
The Funeral- Band Of Horses (Band Of Horses are very popular on itunes. Good song too.)
World Spins Madly On- The Weepies (I love, love, love this song! For an idon'twanttogetoutofbed mood. This song has a perfect balance of happiness, sadness, catchiness, etc. 'Take It From Me' and 'Gotta Have You' are good too.)
Empty Room- Marjorie Fair (This song is just cool.)
Stay Away- The Honorary Title (Slightly angry without going too far. More like annoyed. A good beat.)
A Bad Dream- Keane (This has got to be my favorite song by them.)
How It Ends- DeVotchKa (This song is a bit out there, but it gets better the more you listen to it. It's the kind of song you'd expect from a deep, introspective movie. I love it!)
Something To Believe In- Aqualung (I love the beginning beat! The song rocks too, as do most songs by Aqualung- the songs are so clear. Rec 'Easier To Lie' as well.
Impossible- Shout Out Louds (Also 'Please, please, please'. So raw and hopeful. Nice Beat too.)
Middle Of Nowhere- Hot Hot Heat (Such a cute, peppy song. Lots of sweet teenage-ish excitement.)
Overdue- The Get Up Kids (I love this song, so insightful about absentee parents-or anyone. It's sad-ish and catchy! Almost an oxymoron.)
When I Am Gone- Sparrow House (This song is mostly acoustic, and it is SO SAD. About this failed relationship, but there isn't any bitterness or blame, which is so sweet! The lyrics are probably the best I've ever heard. I couldn't get this song out of my head for ages!)

I'm sorry about this super long list (15 songs/artists)! You've probably fallen asleep now, but once I got on a roll... :P

Hmm...I can suggest songs that I love, but...

My all-time favorite band is the Counting Crows with favorite songs being "Angels of the Silences" and..."I Wish I Was a Girl".

Then I love Lifehouse, and "First Time" does rock, though my favorite song is probably "Breathing" or "Take Me Away".

I lately have discovered "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol, which so totally suits on my novels.

Ooh...and "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls! Love that song!
