I loved reading all about your favorite ice cream flavors (especially like the unusual ones, like cotton candy!) but I have to admit, I was really surprised that chocolate wasn't mentioned more.

But then I live with someone who loves chocolate (you may remember me mentioning his freezer stash) and even he tends to go for ice cream flavors like cookie dough, so clearly I'm basing my assumption on the fact that if I could eat ice cream (or chocolate), that would be what I'd eat.

Which leads me to...congrats to Kayleigh, who won the summer six-pack of books!

This week, I desperately need to take a vacation, but can't. So, once again, in the interest of living vicariously, tell me about your favorite vacation (or favorite vacation spot) and you could win a free book! The books I'll be giving away this week are: A Little Friendly Advice by Siobhan Vivian, Breathe My Name by R.A. Nelson, The Comeback Season by Jennifer Smith, and When You Wish by Kristin Harmel.

I'll take comments here through Friday, July 18th, and then I'll draw four names at random and each of those four people will win a book! This contest, as usual is open to everyone (I will ship books overseas), though I do want to remind you that if you comment here, *please* make sure you leave me a way to email you if you win.

Okay, back to work for me, but before I go, here's a couple of interesting links:

A great interview with Nora Roberts where she talks about her writing process--I love her thoughts on first drafts!

And branching out from there, the Smart Bitches, Trashy Books blog asks writers to chime in about their own first draft process. I never get tired of reading about how other people write--other people are so creative when it comes to writing books!

My favorite vacation spot is Toronto, Ontario. I have been going there since I was a kid and have always loved it. I visit my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins on my mother's side of the family. I enjoy the fresh air, the different pace of life, milk that comes in plastic bags, Chinatown, and much more. It is definitely the place to relax!

Thanks for having another contest!

My favorite vacation spot is a tie between Fall Creek Falls in Eastern Tennessee, and Gulf Shores/Dauphin Island in Alabama. The reason is because i have amazing memories at both places.

A couple of Spring Breaks ago, I went with my family to Fall Creek Falls and stayed in a cabin on the lake and went hiking and saw waterfalls during the day; it was absolutely beautiful. Last summer, I stayed in a beach house with all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins on Dauphin Island, Alabama. The beach was fun, it wasn't crowded and it was the first family reunion in years.

Thanks for all of the contests! It's always fun to win a new book!

My favorite vacation has to be whenever I go to Birmingham (Alabama, not England) because I feel that this place is my actual home, I feel like this is where I'm supposed to be. I love hanging out with my family here because their life is so incredibly different from mine, so much more fun and relaxed. Plus, I am so different here, more fun and outgoing. This place is like a drug for me.

Favourite vacation spot at the moment would have to be Cuba. I went there with my family and friends last summer and it was just amazing. The beach was so beautiful and the sceneries just take your breath away. I would definitely want to go back, except I want to see other parts of the world too.

Another generous giveaway. Please enter me. Thank you. =)

My favorite vacation spot is Las Vegas because you can go all around the world in one city. You can visit the Paris hotel, New York New York, Caesar's Palace...the list goes on.

Plus there are all sorts of fun arcades, the city is running 24/7 (which is great for a night owl like me), and there are lots of sparkly flashy lights and things that appeals to my inner magpie.

My favorite vacation was a road trip from Florida to California and back. It was the week between summer A and summer B sessions, so we only had 7.5 days. Seven people total (four guys, three girls) in a minivan. The guys did all the driving, and we often drove throughout the night.

We went ice skating in Dallas, went to the Alamo and the zoo, saw a bit of Los Angeles, had a picnic on the beach in Carmel, visited the boardwalk in Santa Cruz and went in the Pacific Ocean, did touristy stuff in San Francisco (Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, rode a trolley, etc). We went bowling in Flagstaff, and visited the Grand Canyon. We also visited a few friends along the way.

The seven of us weren't very close friends to begin with (my best friend went and I vaguely knew the rest of the group), but it was the most awesome trip ever.

I just got back from my favorite vacation. My 2 best friends and I drove 6 hours to Elkton, FL to go to the Van's Warped Tour. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe it, mostly because it was everything a summer should be all wrapped up in one festival- great music, relaxing with friends, having fun and being outside :)

My favorite vacation was when I went to France last summer. Paris is so breathtakingly beautiful, literally. I was there for two weeks staying with my stepdad's brother's family who lives there, so not only did I get to experience the touristy part of Paris but I also got to experience it like a normal French teenager. That vacation was by far my favorite vacation I have ever taken in my life. I really wish i could go back soon but it is just so darn expensive :(

Anyway, thanks for offering another contest, you're book prizes are always good.

I don't go on vacation. In my family, a vacation consists of going to a mall that is about an hour away to go school shopping. With 6 dogs, it'd be hard to travel anywhere.

My favorite vacation spot is Boston, Massachusetts. It's not far from my house, like a 45 minute drive, but it's a vacation to me. Because i live in the suburbs, and Boston is this beautiful city. Whenever i go there i never want to leave. My sister went to college there for a while, but then dropped out. So i have to find other ways. And it's always great.

I love your contests!

I really love going to Chicago. There are so many good stores, restaurants, museums, and theres always some kind of festival going on. And the theater is pretty good too.

But if I could go ANYWHERE...I would go to Italy, for sure.

I go to Vegas the most because I have family there. It's an interesting blend of artifical and natural beauty, and there's always something to do - often for free. Just be careful about the gambling and you can have an inexpensive and memorable stay! (Mon-Wed a hotel room in an upscale 3-star on the Strip or on Fremont is only thirty dollars or so.)

Well I don't really take vacations often. I'm kind of the boring vacation taker because I'm happy going somewhere with museums and such. I'm the type who would go see the biggest ball of yarn and call that a vacation. :P

For my vacations I've been mostly to Mexico. Such as Cabo, Ixtapa, and Cancun. I've also been to Alaska(southern part such as Juneau) on a cruise. Alaska was a fun experience because it's different from the humid air and beaches of Mexico. Being in Alaska was educational. I learned about the salmons, glaciers, etc. It was definately cold up there; fortunately I drank hot chocolate. I would love to go back to Alaska for my second time. It's definately different from Mexico and living in California.
