Do you notice book titles? Do you have a favorite? I see the "What's you favorite novel?" question all the time, but no one ever asks about titles. I ask because a. I'm curious and b. this week I'm giving away a bunch of books with pretty creative titles.

They are: How NOT to be Popular by Jennifer Ziegler, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do (a collection of short stories featuring one by Ellen Hopkins), Does My Head Look Big In This? by Randa Abdel-Fattah, and Bewitching Season by Marissa Doyle

So let me know what you think about book titles and if you have a favorite, be sure to share what it is! I'll be taking comments through Friday, September 19th and then I'll draw four names at random and each of those four people will get a free book. You can only enter once, but you can enter regardless of where you live (I will ship books overseas) and if you've won something from me before.

Also! I want to congratulate Pam, Brittney, Ashley, Katherine, Nancy, Audrey, Taylor, Dominique, Beth and Jenna, who won my latest mailing list contest, and then share some links:

Jennifer Lynn Barnes has two excellent posts that I think everyone should read: Thoughts on YA and Finding (and Keeping) the Love

I'm pretty sure I've posted this one before, but a link to it popped up in a discussion I was reading the other day and so I went and reread Holly Lisle's Ordering to the Net...Or How to Kill a Career in Three Easy Books and was reminded all over again of how fascinating it is.

And finally, if you're interested, I wrote about my most memorable summer for The Story Siren

Oh enter me, unless i win breaking up is hard to do...i own it, so it would be better in a new home.

but let's see...I always love looking at book titles. Some are crazy and kind of deter me from reading, but others just make you want to pick it up and check it out.

I love the titles in the Georgia Nicholson seris like Angus, thongs, and full frontal snogging and knocked out by my nunga nungas (just to name a couple)

Hmm...let's see, I don't believe I have a favorite book title, but the book I'm currently reading is called Pants On Fire, so I guess that's pretty unique. I do have a favorite book thouhg, it's 'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky!

I don't have a favorite book title, but I do pick up books solely because of their title. Sometimes I don't even read the summary, just grab it and read it because I like the title.

Favorite title? Definately An Abundance of Katherines. It's by John Green. Which reminds me... he does this thing where you add "in my pants" to every title. So, An Abundance of Katherines in My Pants is definately my favorite title.

Oh, and I finished Living Dead Girl. WOW. It was pretty inteense. It was very different from your other novels, but I loved it. I wish there was more on the end, but I love making up my own endings too. Great job.

Book titles definitely grab my attention. It's a quick way of figuring out what a book is about. I do enjoy the title "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian"-- it's so wordy that I just have to find out more!

I'm not sure if I have a favorite title. Of course when I'm browsing in a store, titles always catch my eye and I stop to read what the book is about. I do like Ally Carter's Gallagher Girl titles - "Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy" and "I'd Tell You I Love You, but Then I'd Have to Kill You."

For titles, I like the Ally Carter ones that have already been mentioned. I like when titles are funny or have a strong theme (if in a series). I adore the Kim Harrison titles, all putting a witch twist on classic Westerns.

An oldie (c1991) that I never got around to reading but always remembered the title of was Louise Plummer's "My Name is Sus5an Smith: The 5 Is Silent."

Oh, and Jay Asher's "TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY" is another cool title, specifically because of the way it replaces the i with a 1 and the e with a 3, as seen on the front cover. Google image search it or go to amazon to see what I mean.

Book titles catch my attention. I won't pay much attention to the covers but the titles stand out to me. The more creative they are the more likely I'll pick it up and read it. I don't have a favorite book title.

I love book titles. . .there are so many different and interesting ones! I like ones with signifigant meanings, like 'The Silence of the Lambs' by Thomas Harris (one of my favorite books)or 'Thirteen Reasons Why' by Jay Asher (I especially like that one because of how normal that can sound until you figure out what the book is about) . . So, yeah!

Uh, this is a tough one! I don't have a lot of favourites, and most of them tend to be a bit longer like 'A Great and Terrible Beauty'. =) I also love 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower', 'Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist', 'It's Kind of a funny story', 'Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac'. Ooh, and funny ones like 'The Earth, My butt and other big round things'! Lol, as you can see they're all pretty long! ;)

A book title that really caught my eye was "Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac". Also the titles "If I Have A Wicked Stepmother, Wheres My Price," "The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks," and I think my favorite one is "Lost It," haha it really makes you wonder, plus the cover is just about the prettiest cover I've ever seen :)
