new year, free books!
Wednesday, January 07, 2009
Justine Larbalestier is talking about writing for the entire month of January, and so far she's covered coming up with ideas, being stuck and/or sticking with what you're working on , and even answers a few questions about getting an agent and query letters -- "My biggest piece of advice is not about agents or editors. It’s to keep writing."
And I've got some books to give away. I know you're shocked. (heh.)
Leave me a comment telling me what TV show I should be watching RIGHT NOW by this Friday, January 9th, and then I'll pick four people at random and each of those four people will win a book. You can only enter once, but you can enter regardless of where you live (I will ship books overseas) or if you've won something from me before.
The books I'm giving away are: Three Little Words by Ashley Rhodes-Courter, Diary of a Chav by Grace Dent, Need by Carrie Jones, and I Know It's Over by C. K. Kelly Martin.

You HAVE to watch Psych on USA Network Friday at 10/9c. It's going to be awesome! They are showing the new episodes now and even on Facebook there is a launch party. Don't miss it! :)
You should watch Monk on USA Network at 9:00 every Friday. This show is one of my favorites out there. :)
THE OFFICE.
Plain & simple.
Oh BTW I Know It's Over = amazing on so many levels. This contest is awesome.
FRINGE. =) It's a great show with Joshua Jackson in it.
Does it have to be a show that's on now? I've been watching first-season West Wing dvds. That show makes me happy.

Chuck because it's funny. Plain and simple :D
CSI Miami
The dramatic acting is reminiscent of theater, and I find that funny. :)))
Brothers and Sisters. FAVE SHOW EVER. :)
(I already have "I know it's over".)

You should watch Gossip Girl. It is amazingly addictive. :)

You should be watching One Tree Hill. It is one of my all time favorite shows. The characters are easy to relate to and it's just an all around great show.
On the CW Monday nights at 9:00!

LOST!! I love this show, it keeps me on the edge of my couch every week. Comes on Jan. 21!
i agree with the person who said to watch One Tree Hill.
i cry about everything, and i cried about three times this week when during the episode.
the characters are relatable, hateable, and you'll probably wish you could be their friend.
i do.

Chuck! It's one of the best shows on the air right now.
Coming up next month though is Joss Whedon's new show, Dollhouse, so if you ask then again, my answer might change :)
Gossip Girl! Definitely! :)

hahah the first person took my answer! PSYCH definitely. I've been praising this show to anyone that will listen. It's got the mystery, but it's hilarious!! I absolutely love it. GirlwithBraids already gave the info on the time and channel and stuff, but it's a good time start! New episodes DO start on Friday. :)

I love the t.v. series 90210! So, of course I recommend that series. But I've got to be honest, it's kind of like a teenage show... Plus I rarely watch television because of my school work, etc. But I do make time for 90210 on Tuesdays for one hour on The CW.
:]
The Big Bang Theory is probably the funniest show I've ever seen.

I really don't watch much TV, so I don't know what to recommend... So how about a movie? Have you seen Iron Man? I just saw it and loved it! If you haven't seen it, go find it!
You should really watch Chuck-it's pretty much the only show I make sure not to miss (usually it's on NBC on Mon @ 8). Or Privileged is cute :)
(& great books for the prizes! Diary of looked fun & I so want Need-and own IKIO. I don't know about the last one yet.)
I watch too much TV, but the one show that I recommend to everyone is Supernatural. It's on the CW at 9:00 on Thursdays. :)

House is my new favorite.
The Biggest Loser. I am a total fanatic of that show. The stories of the people and their weight loss is so inspiring. It's on Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC. :)

I really like Scrubs this season. As the characters grow up it's a fun and refreshing way to laugh on Wed. nights.
I recommend Gossip Girl. The characters (esp. Blair & Chuck) are really engaging, it features great music, and the clothes are lots of cracked-out fun.
During my winter break, I have become addicted to NCIS. It is witty and suspenseful.

You should be watching The Secret Life of an American Teenager. It's so bad it's good, and Molly Ringwald plays the mom.

Psych on USA Network! Monk right before it. Grab a pizza and your set for the night!
I would say to watch House but its not on Fridays... oh well. :)
Please enter me.
OOO!
I say either Fringe - I'm such a sci fi geek; I love that show -, House - his snarkiness amuses me - or Bones - Booth and Brennan are the ultimate couple.
I can't choose just one!
(And yay for Carmen Alexix saying Fringe, Katie for saying House, and whoever said The Biggest Loser. I like that show, too.)
I'm such a TV addict. I use http://hulu.com to keep up, if anybody wants that. (You can find House and Monk and several other shows there, The Office included.)
Definitely Kath & Kim! NBC Thursday nights at 8:30. It is hilarious. I'm also addicted to Gossip Girl and Greek but I'm not going to recommend those because they are gear more toward teens, but then again you are a YA writer, so I'll suggest those two as well. Overall, all three shows are addicting.
Kath & Kim = hilarious
Gossip Girl = drama, drama, drama, addicting
Greek = fun!!

Anything on SET. Actually I never had that channel, but the shows look really cool...they're all for ladies I guess.
One Tree Hill is the best.
its the 14th episode into the 6th season, but they have great
"previously on..."
and have flashbacks if something is important that you need to know.
Monday at 9:00
on The CW
Ack, I missed the contest! But I just have to recommend 30 Rock. It's kooky and silly and smart. Tina Fey is amazing :-)
Privileged. Its so much better than it seemed like it would be.
I'm just going to throw something random/different in here and say you should watch Legend of the Seeker. Lol. For some reason, I'm into it! :)
