Jane Austen, perfect hair, and I forgot where I put my links.

Thursday, February 19, 2009

Yesterday I met Bennett Madison, who is smart and funny and has an amazing book, The Blonde of the Joke, coming out this fall.

Also, he has perfect hair. Which I was--and am!--very envious of, seeing as how my hair usually looks like something exploded inside it.

And I've just lost all the links I was going to share. GRARGH! Oh well. Let's see if I can find them again. Hold on.

Okay!

The Read Carpet has its second episode up--and Bloom is mentioned!! YAY! (And thank you!)

From Genreality: Proposal Discussion, the importance of "breathing time" (a nice reminder that you don't--and shouldn't work ALL THE TIME), and my personal favorite, know yourself, which is all about figuring out why *you* write. I think it's really easy to get caught up in the idea of being a writer but really--why do you want to be one?

Ten Publishing Myths--Aside from the radio thing (does anyone even listen to radio anymore?) these are all very solid.

Oh! And one really interesting thing from the now-closed Pulse Spring Fling contest...

The most popular couple was Bella and Edward, from Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. No surprise there. However, the second most popular couple?

Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

The second most favorite couple...I never expected the result to turn out like this. Very interesting!

And the book sounds nice, I love the cover.
