why I love my husband, part 25456436649883

Tuesday, February 03, 2009

Just now my husband and I were talking and the Foreigner song "Hot Blooded" came up as someone in his office was singing it.

Him: "Great, now I've got that stuck in my head." (muttering) "I'm hot blooded, chicken at sea, I got a fever--"

Me: What?

Him: You know that song, I know you do! Everyone knows it.

Me: Yeah,I know it. But, um, it's "check it and see." Why would there be a chicken at sea?

Him: Hey, I was six when it was popular! It makes total sense when you're six.

Me: Sure. You're hot blooded, there's a chicken floating in the sea--

Him: And you've got a fever of a hundred and three. See? Total. sense.

Thanks Elizabeth - I now have Hot Blooded in my head. Luckily, that song rocks.

Supernatural renewed my appreciation for mullet rock and bands named after places in the world.

For the longest time my friend thought taste buds were taste spuds (as in, the potato) I think the chicken at sea wins though.

Adele, what you said about Supernatural, mullets and music made me laugh so hard!

Robby, believe me, you aren't missing much. Music from when I was little...(shudder)

Cecilia--I know I'll never be able to hear the song again w/o thinking of "chicken at sea" too :-)

Thao--thank you! And the song is by Foreigner. I think. It's been a long time since I heard it.

H--taste spuds! I love it :-)

Why thank you Elizabeth! I think many songs from the mullet era now link to moments in Supernatural for me. Eye of the Tiger is no longer synonymous with Rocky but Jensen Ackles lip syncing atop the Metalli-car!

I have been listening to Wheel in the Sky by Journey this part week. I heart Journey.
