10 Days to Something, Maybe!

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Wow, ten days to go till Something, Maybe!

TEN! YAY!

Today, I hope this entry shows up on everyone's feeds--yesterday's (which was about the cover) didn't, and so I've got my fingers crossed....

I also want to do a little looking back. Let's see:

I've talked about the book reading and signing I'll be doing and given you a url that you can use to spread the word (http://elizabethwrites.com/blog/2009/03/something-maybe-mini-tourand-more.php), posted the first two chapters, which you can read here or here, talked about Hannah's job (which is an actual job!), shared a little more about Josh and Finn, Hannah's co-workers, and how there's more to Finn than Hannah thinks, listed five facts about Candy, Hannah's mom (including a few things that didn't make it into the book!), talked about how Jackson finally gets in touch with Hannah, posted my first ever video blog, wrote about why I wrote the book (and how I had to rewrite it!), shared a little bit from the book about Hannah's trip to see Jackson, asked for your help with websites, and shared how the cover came to be--and it's been so much fun!

There's also been twelve winners so far: Deltay, Erika Lynn, Lisa, Avni, Anatole, Jenn, Brittany, purdypirate, Adele, Naima, thatsnotmyname (who needs to check her/his spam folder because I suspect that's where my messages have gone--hotmail hates me!), and yesterday's winner, Genevieve.

And today's winner--well, you know what I was going to say!

For your chance to win a copy of Michele Jaffe's Kitty Kitty, all you have to do is tell me what prize you'd like to see me give away in these last few days of the countdown by midnight tonight.

Hope you're having a great Saturday, and here are a few links for you to check out while you're deciding what prize you'd like to see me give away:

Tess Gerritsen has a mind-blowing (and kind of of scary!) entry about reality being much stranger than fiction

Agent Nathan Bransford wants to know how writers deal with rejection and frustration--loads of interesting comments for both entries.

And finally, Editorial Anonymous explains something I never really understood (but do now--thanks EA!)-- Sell-In and Sell-Through (EA also has a great post about strippable books)

How about... copies of Something, Maybe? Or any of your previous books? (Sadly I have to admit that I'm woefully behind on reading, having only read Stealing Heaven but loving it. Sigh. Maybe this should be the chance for me to catch up!) :)

Well of course I'd love a copy of Something, Maybe =) I'd also love to win a page of the mss of Something, Maybe along with a book like you did once.
And wow at the roundup of what you've done so far - I hadn't realised just how much work you'd put into this countdown, so thankyou!

I would love to see you give away any of your books, especially the ARCs. I saw the paperback cover for Living The Dead Girl yesterday and it was so beautiful. Why don't you give away a copy?

I just want to tell you my opinion, no need to enter me ^^

Another prize? I'd love to see you give away an autographed copy of one of your books. That would be awesome! =)

Man I can't believe how fast the release is coming up. Last year I thought it would never come, but it is! lol.

Definitely autographed copies of your books---maybe one or two of each! That would be awesome. (The winner/s could also choose which book they want, too.) Even if some of us (not me, though, sadly) have all of your books already, I'm sure everyone would be ecstatic to get an autographed---and maybe with a personalized dedication---Elizabeth Scott book!

I think it would totally awesome if you did a "you pick book". As people get ready to gear up and go to the bookstore to buy yours, they can ignore all those other books they have been longing for and just get yours!

I think you should give away a couple signed copies of your books, an ARC or two, and a book that just came out! Hopefully that helps. Thanks again for all of the great contests!!!

As has been said, signed copies of your books would definitely be awesome! Hmm... or I guess like autographed bookmarks or posters would be pretty awesome too =) And like, yeah, the whole signed original draft pages idea is pretty sweet. ARCs are awesome too. So many options haha...

I'd be thrilled to get a copy of Something, Maybe or Love You Hate You Miss You.

I work with a professor at the University of Texas who was part of the Notable Books committee this last year and so we get LOADS of books, including many advanced copies, but so far I haven't seen either of your two new books and it's killing me!

I pretty much agree with everyone else who commented, I think it'd be awesome if you gave away some of your own autographed copies of your books! Maybe even a copy of Something, Maybe? But I actually would really just love to win any of your books.

I'd love to see a copy of Love You Hate You Miss You! (Because I want to read it soooo badly!) I'd say Something, Maybe, but I already pre-ordered it. One for me, and one for a contest. Gotta spread the book giving love!
