hope, links, and rock the drop! (plus win two books!)

You remember what today is, right?

Operation Teen Book Drop

Also, I recently posted about Little Willow asking authors for their definitions of and thoughts about hope. She very kindly asked me to participate, and you can read what I think hope is and what makes me feel it here

And now for some links:

Agent Nathan Bransford posted all the queries he promised for Agent for A Day. You can check them all out here, and see what he's had to say so far about the whole thing in his recap #1 and recap #2 -- It's been fascinating to follow and see what people have to say, and I can't wait to see his final summary post, which should be up early next week.

Agent Jessica Faust on earning royalties--it's an informative post, but what really caught my eyes was something someone else had linked to--a comment from an author who has some interesting things to say.

Finally, a fascinating--and very funny--essay by a novelist about being married to another novelist (As a side note, Halfway House? Made of AWESOME!)

Okay, I guess that's it except....

You know what? I haven't given some books away in a while and I'm feeling the need to!

So I'm going to.

Wanna win an ARC of The Summer I Turned Pretty *and* What Would Emma Do?

Just tell me what you think hope is by midnight EST on Sunday, April 19th, and then I'll pick one name at random and that person will win both books!

P.S. Only ten days left to enter the Out Of This World contest!!!

Thank YOU! :)

Hope is wonder and belief. Hope is trying and daring. Hope is happy.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is SO, so good, everyone. You MUST read it. It's poignant and sweet.

What Would Emma Do? is on my to-read list.

Hope is continuing to have faith and to believe in something or someone because it's the right thing to do even when the circumstances look bleak.

hope to me is knowing there is good people in the world.
hope is know that people care about you, that you are safe, and believing in your self.
hope is taking chances.
and even if you regret it after, at least you know you did something on impulse.

Hope is believing in yourself. Hope is giving all you have. Hope is praying all would turn out good.

Those books sound so intriguing. I want to read them so bad.

Yay for rocking the drop! This was my first year in doing so and it was awesome!

Hope provides the strength we need to carry on in this world where bad things will always happen, but you also know with 'hope' there will always be good. It's faith and strength we all need for ourselves and others. Now hopefully that made some sense (no pun intended!)

I've been wanting to read both of these books!

Hope is believing. Hope is something you must hold on to when everything else seems to go wrong.

I feel that hope is something you long for and believe in. No matter what others say or do or think; you still believe in it. I feel that hope is alot like faith.

Yay for Operation Teen Book Drop!

Hope is "the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best".

What can I say? I'm a big fan of dictionaries...

Hope is something that keeps my dreams alive through worst circumstances. And will definitely be one of my children's name in the future.

And another:

Hope is within itself, too: holding on to that hope when others would say don't, can't, shouldn't, too late, too little, too much, and you say: I do, I can, I will, there's still time, there's still hope.

To me hope is believing that what ever you want will come true and that you have faith. You never give up on that dream because of hope. You try again and again because you have a bit of hope in you because you never know maybe one day your dream will come true. Hope lets you get threw the bad times in your life because your praying that everything will end up ok in the end and refuse to let the bad things win.

Hope is believing in the impossible because without it, discoveries, technologies, works of art and prose would never be made.

Hope is what keeps you going when everything looks bleak. To steal the quote, that I have above my desk, hope is believing this -

It's never to late to be what you might have been.
