rush, rush, and Free Books!

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

I'm up to my neck in revisions at the moment, so I don't have time for a proper blog entry.

However, I don't want to neglect you, lovely readers, so I offer the following

--an ARC of Falling for Hamlet by Michelle Ray
--an ARC of Shelter by Harlan Coben
--a copy of Stay by Deb Caletti

For your chance to win one of these three books, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me your fave way to de-stress (and a way to contact you!) by midnight EST this Friday, July 1st.

And yep, this contest is open to everyone :-)

Mitch's Ways to De-stress!

My best way to de-stress is to kick back, relax, buy some new books for a bargain, and listen to a whole range of songs. Old favourites you haven't heard in a long time is always a good way to make you feel happier.

Postage Address: 16 Raintree Drive, Tewantin, Queensland, Australia, 4565.

My favorite way to destress is going off into the backyard by myself and just taking some deep breaths...I think the 'by myself' is the most important thing since I have small children and always seem to have shadows :D

OOOO Thanks for the amazing opportunity!

My fave way to de-stress, is to just push away the laptop, ipod, cell or any other electronic and pick up a contemporary YA book and lie on my bed. One that makes me laugh, nothing serious, so that I can become easy at mind. Preferably books I know like majority of the lines, like example, right now, Teen Idol by Meg Cabot. Read that like, 7-8 times already!! But it never gets old :)

Thanks again for the amazing giveaway!

Great question! To de-stress I go off into a room by myself and take a cold soda drink and some chocolate and just relax. I don't bring any work with me and just plan on watching tv, reading or maybe just sleeping. Sleeping is always a great de-stresser.

I bake to unwind and de-stress. Cookies, cupcakes, pie, whatever we have in the pantry, I turn into a confection of some kind. We go through a lot of sugar at my house... But both of my parents are really popular at work because I once I've de-stressed, I send the baked experiments with them the next morning.

Believe it or not, when I'm really stressed, shopping helps me relax LOL There's something about walking around the mall, with no real purpose except to browse and maybe buy a little something for myself, that makes me feel relaxed. Obviously this tactic won't work during, you know, Christmastime. LOL

Another weird thing I do when I'm stressed is to create a to-do list, for the sole purpose of being able to cross things off as I finish them. It's really, really relaxing to watch your to-do list shrink right before your eyes.

Oh, and the reading, and the eating--that's a de-stresser, too.:)

My favorite way to de-stress is to turn my ipod on to some terrible pop song that I would never listen to otherwise and shamelessly dance around my bedroom. Quick and easy and everyone has a terrible pop song on their ipod and a private room to dance in :)

Thank you and good luck with revisions!

Anything involving water destresses me: looking at a picture of the ocean, writing about the ocean, taking a hot shower, going to a swimming pool or just relaxing in bed with a book.

My favorite way to de-stress involves a guilty pleasure: The animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. If you do not own all three seasons of this show on DVD, you need to get them - but DO NOT make the mistake of buying the truly horrible live action movie adaptation.

Now, get your favorite fizzy beverage (mine's Fresca) and your favorite snack (dried mango) kick back and watch an episode or two - honestly, they're really good.

I just finished BETWEEN HERE AND FOREVER and IT WAS SO GOOD!! I don't know why it took me so long to get to it!!!!

Anyway, when I'm stressing, I like to just dance around in my room with my earphones in, turning the volume way high. I close the door because I'm such a sucky dancer. It's really fun, and before the songs over I'm good to go. Northshore by Tegan and Sara = my favorite
